With the Winter 2021 anime season-ending, it is time to prepare our sayonaras for the magnificent shows that kept us in their reins for weeks and look towards the future. This does not need to be a sad affair for us Otakus because the Spring 2021 anime season looks promising. We’ll be getting both sequels to our faves and brand new anime alike. We’ve compiled 10 anime coming out this spring that you should keep an eye out for. Which anime are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments!

1. THE WAY OF THE HOUSEHUSBAND

The Way of the Househusband started out as a manga in 2018 and has produced seven volumes so far. A drama series on Japanese television was created afterwards and now the anime adaptation, starring Kenjiro Tsuda (a fave!!) who voices 38-year-old Tatsu who was once a legendary Yakuza popularly known as ‘Immortal Dragon’ because of his ruthlessness. He quit that lifestyle to settle down with his wife, Miku, as a househusband dedicated to doing menial chores. This anime looks absolutely hilarious and debuts today!!

2. HOW NOT TO SUMMON A DEMON LORD OMEGA!

Its first anime adaptation was released in 2018 and it returns with a second season on April 8th. Crunchyroll has announced the second season with fresh faces and character drawings. We wonder what new demons Demon Lord Diablo is set to fight on his journey with his two beautiful comrades, Shera and Rem. Cheers to great fight scenes and hopefully, more lewd scenes ahead!

3. SHAMAN KING 2021

Shaman King follows the adventure of 13-year-old Asakara and his teammate who traverse the world fighting evil spirits hoping to become the next Shaman King. It first debuted in 2001 and is now getting a much-deserved reboot as Fullmetal Alchemist did with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

4. ODD TAXI

What is an anime season without a humanoid show? The story follows taxi driver Odokawa who lives a silent life with no family. The only people he calls friends are his doctor and his high school classmate. He has conversations with his customers, which leads him to a girl’s disappearance. The show reveals the secret lives of Odokawa’s passengers and an underlying mystery.

5. TOKYO REVENGERS

Takemichi Hanagaki’s life as we know it changes when he finds out that his ex-girlfriend was murdered by the Tokyo Manji gang; a group of criminals that have been causing unrest in the society for some time. Takemichi suddenly finds himself travelling through time and ends up 12 years in the past where he’s still with his first and only girlfriend, Hinata. Realizing he can save her by defeating the gang, he teams up with Hinata’s brother to change the future.

6.MARS RED

This anime series takes place in 1923, where vampires exist. A company creates an artificial blood source, Ascra, for them to survive, but with the number of vampires on the rise, the government has a different plan. A vampire task force is formed ‘Code Zero’ to investigate and curb the breakout before the vampires take over society.

7. Yasuke

This is one series, anime fans have been expecting for a long time. Mappa, the legendary studio that gave us JJK, AOT: The Final season and god of high school return this season to give us another seat gripping experience with Oscar-nominated Lakeith Stanford who voices Yasuke, an African man who fought alongside a mighty feudal lord in 16th century Japan. Yasuke struggles to have a peaceful life after his past was filled with violence, but he must sacrifice the peace to save a child who is the source of agitation in the village.
